FESTIVALS
The Buddhist festivals or “Tsechus” are some of the best examples of the living culture of Bhutan that many have come to admire and treasure. The Tsechu is a festival in honour of Guru Rimpoche, the saint who brought Buddhism to Bhutan and the Himalayan world. These Tsechus are held in most of the districts attracting hundreds of Bhutanese people in a spirit of festivity, celebration and deep faith. During the Tsechu, monks and laymen perform the mask dances while village women perform the folk dances. The dancers wear colourful costumes and masks while musicians play enchanting sounds.

| ESSENCE OF BHUTAN | |
| 27 Nights in Bhutan. The Snowman Trek is graded as one of the toughest treks in the world. If you do the entire trek, it begins in Paro and ends in Bumthang which takes around 36 days. This trek is done by people who are serious trekkers and are in want of real adventure. Taking the global economic crisis in to consideration for people wanting to take this serious trek on a budget, Khamsa Tours have taken the most difficult segment of this trek and are now offering the most challenging adventure for a slightly shorter duration. This way, the trek becomes affordable with the same adventure retained. The Ideal time to do this trek is September and October. However, weather has become very erratic and sometimes, due to snow at the passes, we may have to take alternative routes. | |
